Running alone or with friends? Two ways to experience the same passion.

Correre da soli o in compagnia? Due modi per vivere la stessa passione

Runners know it: there's no one right way to experience running. It's a personal experience, one that changes with us. Sometimes we need to be alone, other times we need to share our pace with someone.
Every outing is a journey, and choosing whether to do it alone or in company depends on what we need at that moment.

Running alone: listening to your own pace

There's something special about running alone. It's that moment when body and mind align, with no noise around, just the beating of your heart and the sound of your breathing.
It means freedom: choosing the pace we feel is ours, following a path without schedules or compromises.

It's also excellent mental training. It helps us focus, manage fatigue, and get to know ourselves better. For those preparing for a race or working towards specific goals, running alone can become a true school of determination.

The strengths of solo running:

  • Total freedom of pace, route and duration.

  • More listening to your body and your thoughts.

  • Greater concentration and mental strength.

Running in a group: energy that multiplies

Running together, however, is a whole different kind of energy. It pushes you to get out there even when you don't feel like it, makes you smile when you feel tired, and makes every kilometer feel lighter.
Training with other people is a constant stimulus: you grow, you compare yourself, you improve together.

This is also the beauty of a group: sharing the hardship, but also the satisfaction. And perhaps making friendships that go far beyond running.

The benefits of running together:

  • More motivation and consistency.

  • More challenging and fun workouts.

  • A nice sense of belonging to a community.

The secret? Alternate.

The truth is, you don't need to choose once and for all. The secret is to alternate.
There are days when silence regenerates us. Others when the group gives us the push we've been missing. And that's okay.

Listening is key. Every stage of our journey requires something different, and learning to understand it makes all the difference.
The important thing is to never stop running. Nor to listen to what the race is telling us each time.
